I. Mike "Machine" Mallais. Have placed 1st for BOTH Hands and Feet at the Canadian WFD competition held in Quebec City, Quebec!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an amazing experience for me .. and for my girlfriend Christine!!! We travelled by train.. took us about 14 hours each way.. but boy was it ever worth it. I had such a great time with her.. and had such a great time competing and meeting so many great ppl!!!

I have to take this chance to thank Rej of Musique Gagne!!! He is an amazing guy for letting me enter the semi finals via videos.. and to have the faith in me to let me voice my opinion with how things went down.. to be fair for all contestants... i'll leave out the details.. but I did help make it fair for everyone.. so I hope that was appreciated!!!

For the hands competition... I scored 960 Single Strokes in 60 Seconds... using my Los Cabos 5A Hickory Drumsticks!!!

For the feet competition... I scored 974 Single Strokes in 60 seconds... using their DW5002 Double Pedals.

I have been told by Tim Waterson himself (current WFD feet Champion) that I now have the THIRD HIGHEST FOOT SCORE IN WFD HISTORY for 60 seconds single strokes!!!!!!!!!!

Aside from winning in Quebec.. I made some new friends ..some whom are pictured.. some whom are not.. but I would like to say hi to Julien!!! From the Quebec band "Blinded By Faith" and also to Marie Louise ..for being such a great friend to Christine and I.. she truly was great to us..and we owe her a HUGE thanx!!!!!!!

This is all I can say for now folks.. im so swamped and need to tackle TOOOOO much!!! As soon as I got off the train .. I had to go to "The Tide" for setup/soundcheck as I played a gig on BASS on saturday with local band "Whiskey Finger" ..it was a great time with the boys.. and pics are to come soon.. but that just gives you all an idea of how busy I truly am.. I hardly slept since ive been home..and I still cant seem to make time for much.. but this is great news for me ..and needed to share with you all!!!

THANKS to everyone who has emailed/msg'd/called ...your support is unreal.. and I wont let you down in January when I goto LA!!!

Good Times In The Maritimes!!!

Hey Again!!!

Ok, So im sharing with you all my weekend just past. I obviously had an INSANELY great time visiting my girlfriend in Moncton. Now I know friends of mine who live in Moncton will read this and probably feel left out.. so i'll apologize to you guys/gals now and say.. things are busy.. but im making my rounds.. there'll be more Moncton action thats forsure!!!

So in the pics above.. Ive shared some shots of me and Christine having lots of good times... also ive uploaded pictures of me with her great family.. who I wanna thank for supporting "us" threw all that is happening and also for what is to come. I would like to introduce you all to her mom Patricia, her man Chris, and her other child Michael. These ppl are such great ppl..and are soooooooo good to me.. im telling ya.. im way to lucky to have their support!!!

Me and Christine had many a great time... tons of laughs.. being out and about. We played pool.. we went out for dinner.. we went to the movies and saw the new Trailer Park Boys movie.. which btw kicks alot of ass.. but I was personally dissapointed that "Cyrus" wasnt in the flick.. but it didnt make the movie any less than great... maybe I just enjoyed it that much more having the time with Christine. =)

Also.. id like to introduce to you all.. 2 amazing ppl.. who are honestly.. IMO.. THE BEST GOD DAMN MUSICIANS TO EVER GRACE THE STRINGS!!! ... if you notice me pictured with 2 men.. these men are Conrad Simon..and Byron Simon. Conrad is IMO the greatest Guitar player of ALL time.. YES!!! OF ALL TIME!!! ..and his brother Byron is nothing short of AMAZING on the Bass Guitar!!! So here is a huge shout out to them both!!! Hey guys!! ..man.. it really made my day to run into them.. Conrad has inspired me to levels unmatched.. so..trust me.. I was pumped. I really hope he and I work together in the future.. as he is incredible as a man..and a player.

So having said all this.. all in all.. sunday and Monday we're incredible.. its a shame everyday cant be exciting!!! Hope you all enjoy the slideshow..stay well and stay in touch!!!

Tuesday was pretty ful-FILLING hahaha.. I had to go visit my dentist for a filling and thought I would introduce you all to the great ppl who help me get threw life with a smile!!!

These ppl are so good to me.. in fact.. Martin has helped me with getting my passport..as I have been a patient of his for about 9 years now.. so I really wanna give a shout out to him and all the gals at his office for being sooooo good to me.. Sick Sucks!!!

Hey Everyone!

Well again im about 7 days behind in making an entry.. but thats ok.. i'll try my best to recap on the musical based events that have been going on for me. Im super sick today..so I took the day off from everything.. but I gotta get this out to you.

I actually do have news for you all!!! ..I've made a video of me doing some Drumometer runs.. For both hands and feet.. single strokes for both. The reason you ask? ..well im entering myself in the WFD competition that is being held in Quebec City on October 26th!!!!!! Thats right!!! a Canadian WFD championships!!!

I got an email from a few different ppl letting me know that Boo Mcphee of WFD wants me to go and compete..as he's heard alot about me and wants me to become the Canadian champ for this comp!!! So I read the details of this event and realized theyre requiring ppl to qualify for the finals.. so what I did.. instead of going to Quebec twice.. I have contacted Reg of Musique Gagne in QC and worked out a deal!!! ..If I can provide recently dated video of me doing Single Stroke runs for both hands and feet..and score high enough to enter the finals..he'll allow me to compete in the finals!!! ..so thats just what ive done!!! I'd like to take this chance to thank Gene of www.fatkatanimation.com for lending me the super nice camera..and also making time to edit/upload this video!!! THANKS GENE!!! YOU'RE THE MAN!!!!!!!

B is for BUSY!!!!!!!!!

Hey Folks!!!

Ok!!.. so right now is 10:30am.. im showered/had breakfast and am waiting for "DT" to show up. Im helping him do some odd jobs this week to help me get some funds together. I have soooooo much stuff to try to share with you all.. I really need to start taking 10 minutes every night to do these entries.. there is just TOO much to report. But i'll try my best while I have the chance.

So as you can see ive uploaded some more "eye candy" for you all. I'll try to give some descriptions of the pics for you from top to bottom.

#1. Is a goofy shot of me taking a pic of ..me.. while im working on the new kit setup at SaltWaterSounds music store on Water St. Chatham.

#2. & #3. are pics of the new setup ive decided on.. even tho you're seeing 14",15"toms in the front.. i'll be downsizing to 12",13" if I decide to use the Crestars for now.. I may go 10",12" with the Granstars instead... we'll see.

#4. & #5. are pics of the plaque I have on display down at SaltWaterSounds .. it was a gift from Paul and it is/was VERY flattering to have that happen. Thanks again Paul!!!

#6. Is a shot of me and "DT" at a job site 2 mornings ago.. havin a blast as always.. listening to Conrad Simon and doin some plumbing!!!

#7. Is the last shot I put up..its the view from the jobsite I just mentioned...whata morning that was..as you can see.

So that covers those pics.. outside of that.. ive been taking some rest time for myself from drumming.. even tho mentally its always in my life.. I just needed a break. Aside from resting.. ive been spending ALOT of time working and getting closer with my new girlfriend...who is/has been nothing short of an inspiration for me. In musical news.. Last night I gave my first OFFICIAL drum lesson to a young man named Austin. He is 11 years old..and the lesson went VERY well. This kid will be good for me I think..hes super excited to learn ..and im really in need of that magic again. So if anyone would be interested in drum lessons.. YES ..I TEACH DRUMS!!!

Right now im just anxious to get my stuff back home and set up.. I had a crazy scare happen this week.. where I thought someone may have stolen my 76mm ammo shell from the store... lemme just say "retirement of all things nice" was my motto for a couple days. Wayne..if you see this.. ya.. we'll talk about the drama bro. I need to cut this short.. as im about to leave for work for today.. I gotta work til 5 with "DT" then do yard work for my buddy Ed.. then I work 10-4 for my father..covering a shift.. then back up by 7am to do it ALL over again..8-5 with "DT" ..6-8 with Ed.. 10-4 for my father.. so lets just say BUSY and WORK.. are my life right now.. hope you're all enjoying yourselves.. and thanks to everyone who is reading these entries!!!
